PANJIM: Two Goan players Mohit Redkar and Darshan Misal have been selected for the forthcoming Indian Premier League auction scheduled on December 19 in Dubai.
Mohit, who is in Mumbai said, “He was in set 16 under uncapped all rounders. The 23-year-old played for Goa in the Ranji Trophy last season as an off-spinner and took 19 wickets.
He also scored 238 runs. This year he participated in the U-23 tournament and took 20 wickets in five matches though he was not able to score much. When asked for the reason in the change in fortunes this year, Mohit said that he was quite mature in his bowling this year and adapted to situations quickly and did not get nervous.
He played in the Deodhar Trophy for South Zone this year. He was also part of the U-23 team for the Asian Cup.
Darshan is an experienced cricketer having made his debut as a left handed batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler. He made his debut for Goa in Ranji Trophy in 2012 in a game against Services. Attempts to contact him proved futile as his phone was switched off.
