4th Rotary Rain Run on July 29

PANJIM: Twelve women runners from across Goa will act as ‘pacers’ in the 10 km and 21km categories of the 4th Rotary Rain Run scheduled to held at Bambolim on July 29.
The event has been organised by the Rotary Club of Porvorim (RCP) for the 4th year in a row. Over 2,000 runners are expected to take part in the run this year from various parts of the country.
RCP President Shephan Shaikh who unveiled the Rotary Rain Run 2018 tee shirt at the media briefing held in Panjim on Friday evening said that the charity run is being organised for runners both male and female in the 5km, 10 km and 21 km (Half Marathon) categories.
The top three runners in the men’s, women’s, armed forces and veterans (above age 50) categories of the Half Marathon will get prizes worth Rs 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 respectively.
Rain Run co-chairman, Rotarian Avinash Parmar informed media persons that the run would be conducted from the Bambolim SAG stadium to Miramar via the Goa University road. This year too, both the 10 km and 21 km runs will be timed events. School children up to class X can register for the 5 km run for free. The 21 km run would be flagged off at 5.45 a.m, the 10km run at 6 a.m. and the 5 km run at 7.30 a.m. respectively.
