Mohith, Kranti fastest at Rotary Run

Pradyumna, Amrita win 10km races

BAMBOLIM: Mohith from Kangra from Himachal Pradesh and Kranti Salvi from  Mumbai were the fastest in the 21km, half marathon event at the 8 th Goa Tourism-BNI Rotary Rain Run 2022 held in Bambolim on Sunday.

Mohith clocked one hour, 31 minutes and 53 seconds, Kranti clocked two hours and 18 seconds for the distance.

In the 10kms open category, Pradyumna Naik of Porvorim clocked 37:04 minutes, while Amrita George, a grade IX school girl from Sirsi in Karnataka shocked her more experienced competitors winning the race in 52:57.

In the 21kms women’s open category, Dakshayani Murgod, a Mapusa based runner came first clocking 2:17:43.

In the 21kms veterans category ( above  45), Sube Singh Yadav of the Indian Navy

clocked 1:42:33 hours, while Kranti Salvi, celebrated Mumbai based marathoner clocked

2:00:18 to win their respective races. Similarly, in the 10km veterans category, Naresh Kumar of Ponda clocked 55:18 and Leena Kamat of Mapusa clocked 1:00:56  to win their respective races.

School girl Amrita George from Sirsi, winner of the 10km women’s race said, “I am thrilled to win, as this is the first time I have been called on the podium. I am inspired to train harder in something I have always loved.”

While, Kranti Salvi of Mumbai, winner of the 21km women’s veteran race said, “Winning always feels amazing, but the experience of running this beautiful route was even more joyful.”
