Four men from Telangana who travelled to Russia around six months ago in search of employment are allegedly stranded at a Russian military facility, prompting their families to seek urgent assistance from the Centre and the Telangana government to bring them back home.
The men have been identified as Bhukya Ravinder, Bhukya Ashok and Megavath Prakash, from the erstwhile Nizamabad district, and Mohammed Afzal Khan from Kamareddy.
According to their families, the four men paid around Rs 3 lakh each to agents who arranged employment opportunities in Russia. They were reportedly offered civilian jobs at a Russian military facility.
However, the families allege that the men were instead taken to a forested area, provided with weapons and subjected to military training.
In a video message, Mohammed Afzal Khan reportedly said that the four men were being confined in a jungle and appealed for help in securing their return to India.
The families have now urged the Central and Telangana governments to intervene and take steps to secure the men’s release and facilitate their safe return home.
