A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday evening, officials said.
The terrorist was identified as Fauzi Musa, who was wanted in connection with several attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter took place in Korag near Yousmarg during a joint operation involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
In a post on X, the Army’s Chinar Corps said the operation, named Operation Korag, was launched after troops detected suspicious movement in the area. When the suspected terrorists were challenged, they opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire in which one terrorist was neutralised.
According to officials, Musa had previously escaped during an encounter in the Yousmarg hills on September 5. His close associate, identified as Yasir, was killed during that operation.
Security forces have been conducting operations in the region as part of efforts to track down terrorists and their associates operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
