US President Donald Trump hosted a high-level luncheon at the White House on Tuesday with prominent technology industry leaders, including SpaceX and Tesla chief Elon Musk, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.
During the meeting, Trump announced that the US government would formally rename Artificial Intelligence (AI) as “Super Intelligence” (SI).

Speaking to reporters, Trump said an executive document would be signed to officially reclassify the technology. He said the decision reflected the view that the term “artificial” did not accurately describe the technology’s capabilities.
Trump also highlighted what he described as a shared objective among his administration and the technology executives attending the luncheon, saying they wanted to ensure that advances in technology contributed to a safer world.
The US President further stressed the importance of infrastructure to support the development of advanced computing and AI technologies. He said technology companies should work closely with local communities and support towns where data centres are being established.
The White House meeting brought together some of the world’s most influential technology executives as the US continues to focus on artificial intelligence, advanced computing infrastructure and the country’s position in the global technology sector.
