PANJIM: The State govt through the Dept of Social Welfare has issued directions to all its departments and educational institutions to modify the existing parameters in order to provide 10 per cent reservation to individuals of economically weaker sections (EWS) belonging to the general category for various jobs.
The office memorandum (OM) dated January 19, 2019 issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Personnel & Training, New Delhi, has been adopted by the State. The Union government extended 10 per cent reservation to the persons belonging to EWS, who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs/STs/OBCs in terms of Constitution of India (103rd Amendment) Act, 2019.
