PONDA: One 70-year-old woman Shanta Patil, from Mangueshi, who has been living in distress after portion of her house collapsed due to heavy rain recently, on Tuesday, urged the government for financial help to repair the house.
According to Shanta, she is residing in the said house past 50 years and after collapse of the major portion of house she and her adopted three children have become homeless.

“I have no source of income and my livelihood depends on the government monthly pension of Rs 2,000,” she informed.
“The full house is on the verge of collapse. I along with my children fear to reside in the house now. I have no other source of income, the government or panchayat should support me to repair my house,” she added. It is learnt that the village panchayat has conducted inspection of the collapsed house.
