Goan student Omar S Naik shines at Olympiad awards 2018-19

 Goan lad Omar S
Naik, a student of class 6th of
Sharada Mandir School made the state proud as he bagged the
silver medal in the International English Olympiad held recently in New Delhi
organised by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)

Over 50,000 schools
from 1400 cities across 30 countries participated in the SOF Olympiad 2018-19
with around 50 lakh students appearing for the Olympiad.

At the International
English Olympiad, Zonal rank 2 was bagged by Omar S Naik a student of class 6th
of Sharada Mandir School who was awarded a Silver Medal and a certificate.

Mahabir Singh,
Founder and Executive Director of SOF, said, “In addition to the International
winner, 61,000 students from 6,300 schools have been awarded for achieving top
state level ranks while 8,00,000 students have been awarded Medals of
Excellence for achieving top rank in their respective schools. 2,000 principals
and teachers have also been honoured for their commitment to academics and
single minded pursuit in successfully improving the students’ academic
knowledge. From 2019-20, SOF will introduce the SOF International Commerce
Olympiad for students of std 11 and 12 to assist them to prepare for their
board exams.”

SoF organised a
ceremony to recognise and award the winning students. On the occasion the Chief
Guest, Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India, congratulated the
winners.

SOF
conducts six Olympiad exams. These include the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO),
National Science Olympiad (NSO), International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO),
International English Olympiad (IEO), International General Knowledge Olympiad
(IGKO) and SOF- International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO).
