DABOLIM: FC Goa coach thanked the Goa FC fans after the team’s first victory. Thanks to the injury time strike from second half substitute Togay Ozbey.
“I would like to thank the Goan supporters for all the love and care even when we were losing and this is a gift to them. This may be the first but many more are yet to come,” stated jubilant Zico.
When asked about the win from the late goal Zico added that “I am optimist an believed till the end that this could happen” stated Zico who recollecting his earlier days added that as a player and coach I lost and won many games at the last minute.
Commenting on the injury status of Andre Santos, Zico said “He had picked up a knock in the previous match and he was hit again in today’s match but the injury seems simple as compared to Gregory, who was substituted in second half with a knee sprain.”
Zico further added that he doesn’t have 11 players and therefore all 27 players have to be ready and everyone is prepared as we have game after game.
Zico was delighted with the team’s performance and added that “I am happy that my team is creating opportunities even though they are not scoring as they are showing the development. But I’m here to teach the players and it won’t come overnight so we have to wait and watch,” signed off the Brazilian legend.
