Who can explain this? A huge traffic congestion takes place daily in front of Sharada Mandir School, Miramar, with cars double-parked on both sides of the road without a care in the world and oblivious to the total chaos they cause on the roads.
No one will penalize them for causing a traffic jam every day. No parking violations are issued. Why? Can someone from the traffic department please explain this. Is it because the wrongly parked cars are all high-end vehicles or carrying individuals above the law?
Does this ‘high-value’ outweigh the normal traffic rules and regulations? I suggest that a drop off and pick up area be demarcated and drivers must use the area like a quick moving taxi rank. Drivers should be allowed only 2 minutes in the signed area (if you take any longer you can be fined). Can the school provide a traffic coordinator who can help the children get in or out of the vehicle and will make sure the driver only stays in the area for 2 minutes (to avoid traffic jam). Come on Goa Police do something to resolve this obnoxious display of wealth.
