Luis Rogtao broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when he punted the ball to the far corner of the net. Spurred by the early success, Betalbatim intensified their attacks and doubled the lead in the 21st minute when Denzil Rogtao beat the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
Down by two goals, ICSC regrouped quickly and took the fight to the rival camp but Lorry Mascarenhas blasted wide from close range on two separate ocassion.
After resumption, ICSC’s Lorry Mascarenhas reduced the deficit. The reducer helped ICSC boost the morale of their players and in the 21st minute Hyginies Fernandes fetched the equalizer.
In the penalty shoot-out, Klinsman Pereira, James Rebello, Denzil Rogtao and Luis Rogtao were on target for Betalbatim while Lorry Mascarenhas, Hyginies Fernandes and Melvito Fernandes converted for ICSC.
Earlier, chief guest Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik inaugurated the tournament.
