Speaking at a press conference, after a task force meeting with various sections of the political establishment including BJP MLAs, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar announced that projects such as improved infrastructure including the expansion of the Ponda highway to a 4 lane road, installation of CCTVs, diversion plans for the busses going to Ponda as well specifics like a hundred wheel chairs would be implemented. The committee headed by the chief minister will monitor the day-to-day functioning and oversee all activities related to the forth coming exposition, which will be held from November 22 to January 4.
So far no decision has been taken on allotment of stalls and the liquor policy.
MLAs Glen Ticlo, Michael D’ Souza, Avertanus Furtado; the four commissioners, Dy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza, Managing Director GSIDC and Commissioner of the Exposition (Infrastructure and Services-II) Sanjit Rodrigues, Superintendent of Police (ACB) and the Commissioner (Security) Bosco George and Michael M D’ Souza, Joint Secretary to CM and Additional Secretary (Finance) who is the Commissioner (coordination) were present at the meeting.
