Anurag, Ritviz in joint lead

PANJIM: Top seed IM Anurag Mhamal and Ritviz Parab are leading with five points each, at the end of the fifth round of 2nd Desai Pratishthan's late Laxmikant Desai all-India open FIDE rating chess tournament, organized by Ponda Taluka Chess Association and Wagle High School Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee under the auspices of Goa Chess Association, at Wagle High School, Mangeshi, Ponda, Friday.

Anurag, Ritviz in joint lead
Soni Krishnan (Delhi), Ian Savio Rodrigues, Gaurav Madkaikar, Rishubh  Naik, Ajay Kumar Rai (Delhi), Vaibhav  Pednekar and  Arjun Adappa (Karnataka) are in the joint second position with 4.5 points each.
AK Kalshyan, Barath M, Om Barde, Rahul Pawar, Raahul VS, Gopal Shah, Sudhakar Patgar, Anirudh Parsekar, Nandhini Saripalli, Datta Kambli, Yuti Patel, Sunad Govekar, Aditee Prabhugaonkar and Mohit Khandeparkar are in the joint third place with four points each.
The fifth round results are as follows: A K Kalshyan lost to Anurag Mhamal, Ritviz Parab beat Barath M, Ajay Kumar Rai drew with Soni Krishnan, Rishubh Naik drew with Arjun Adappa and Aakash Wagle lost to Gaurav Madkaikar.
