I have been visiting Goa for the last 30 years and have spent my last 13 years holidays on the beautiful island of Chorao. I have never posted comments before but feel I should comment on the subject of stray cattle menace at Chorao with reference to your letter published on Citizen Herald dated November 11, 2019.
I fully realise the background to this problem of stray cattle, but would like to explain the hardships and danger being caused to the commuters on the Chorao roads. One morning as usual I left my house to purchase Herald newspaper and a few other items from the local village shop, only about one kilometre away. Filling the road for a considerable distance was a herd of cows. I counted 75. This represents a very real danger to four-wheeler drivers, two wheelers and not least to pedestrians, most of whom were ladies. There is also the problem of the mess they leave behind. Is it not time to find a solution to this problem before there is a serious accident?
