NAVELIM: SC Davorlim blanked St Rock YC Majorda 3-0 to move into the semi-final of the All-Goa Late Jose Bento Furtado memorial football tournament, played at Rosary ground, on Wednesday.
It was one of the best move of the match of Paxton Gomes of Davorlim in the third minute after taking control of the ball from Agnelo Colaco dribbled Suraj Naik defender of Majorda and shot from close range but Fane Fernandes, keeper of Majorda saved it brilliantly.
Rogger Pereira for Majorda took a long range shot but it got deflected off Davorlim defender Piedade Colaco and went out of play. It took ten minutes for Davorlim to net in the first goal of the match with a placement shot off Paxton Gomes assist.
As the match progressed, Mark Borges missed two chances to score for Davorlim in the 15th and 20th minute as the latter’s shot was denied by the cross bar of Majorda on both ocassions.
The save of Suraj Naik of Majorda was the commendable one as he dived on the Majorda goaline to head out the ball entering the net off Mark Borges shot of Davorlim. Roger Pereira the striker of Majorda long ranger failed to pop up into Davorlim net.
SC Davorlim further inflated the lead by scoring two more goals which came from the boots of Mabel Miranda and Agnelo Colaco in the 41st and 48th minute respectively.SC Davorlim will lock horns with ICSC Paroda in the semi-final on November 5.
