PONDA: A sudden power fluctuation at around 9.30 pm on Thursday damaged electrical appliances at many homes in Kurpaswada Bandora and has created panic among the residents.

Anuradha Canconkar suffered a loss of Rs 5 lakh when appliances like the LED TV, refrigerator, laptop, and clothes, including a wooden bed and mattress and other goods, were damaged as a sudden high voltage current flowed across supply lines and engulfed the first floor of his residence.
Noticing the fire, neighbours alerted the family members residing on the ground floor of the house and doused the flames before it could spread further.
Another woman from the locality stated that the power supply kept on fluctuating and suddenly the voltage was so high that the bulbs, TV and refrigerator were also damaged at her in high voltage fluctuations.
