The volunteers hope to get support from the authorities so as to avoid hurting any religious sentiments.

MARGAO:  Volunteer groups from the Salcete coastal belt have urged the authorities to look into the issue of non-dissolving and polluting Plaster of Paris (PoP) Ganesh Idols that are being immersed in the sea and are also mobilising resources to clear the beach of the idols that get washed ashore and remain on the beach for days after the immersions are completed.

The volunteers hope to get support from the authorities so as to avoid hurting any religious sentiments.
