Women convicted for stealing religious items

SANGUEM, JAN 7 Sanguem Judicial Magistrate First Class Sudhgir Shirgaonkar has convicted Sunita Dhade and Shantabai Nayak of stealing religious items from the Nagnath temple at Valshem-Sanguem on July 3, 2008.

Sanguem Judicial Magistrate First Class Sudhgir Shirgaonkar has convicted Sunita Dhade and Shantabai Nayak of stealing religious items from the Nagnath temple at Valshem-Sanguem on July 3, 2008.
Judge Shirgaonkar sentenced the duo to simple imprisonment of one year and fine of Rs 500 under Section 380 and a one-month simple imprisonment under Section 447. The accused were also sentenced to simple imprisonment for four months or in default, a fine of Rs 500 under Section 380.
Sanguem ASI Salunke had investigated the case, while APP Govind Gaonkar appeared on behalf of the State.
