India on Wednesday rejected the operationalisation of the Pakistan-China Boundary Joint Commission in Islamabad, asserting that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of the country.
In a strongly worded statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the commission had no legal basis and rejected the premise of a boundary arrangement involving Pakistan and China in territories claimed by India.

The MEA also reiterated that Pakistan has no authority to enter into any arrangement concerning Indian territory that is under what India describes as Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation.
“The entire Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have been, are and will always remain integral and inalienable parts of India,” the ministry said.
India further maintained that Pakistan has no locus standi to enter into arrangements concerning Indian territory under its illegal and forcible occupation.
The statement came after Pakistan and China operationalised their boundary commission in Islamabad, prompting a sharp response from New Delhi.
India has consistently opposed any third-country involvement in matters concerning Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, maintaining that these territories are an integral part of India.
