VASCO: An electricity transformer burst into flames near the Vasco KTC bus stand, sparking panic among nearby residents late Friday night. The sudden outbreak of the fire, occurred in the vicinity of the bus stand which bustles during the day. Eyewitnesses reported that thick smoke and intense flames emanated from the transformer, raising concerns among the local community. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The Vasco Fire and Emergency Services (FES) team reacted promptly and rushed to the spot. Station Fire Officer Dilip Bicholkar claimed to have prevented the fire from escalating and his team managed to save property estimated to be worth around Rs 5 lakh.
