PONDA: Appreciating efforts by Bonaventure D’Souza of Verna in saving two lives and helping Goa police to unearth a double murder, Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar felicitated D’Souza at Ponda on Thursday.
Mamledar, himself a former DySP with the Goa Police, complimented the efforts of D’Souza and urged people to cooperate with police.
“Such cases where people come forward without any fear to help police are rare. D’Souza is a fine example of selfless service and his efforts need to be appreciated. As a token of appreciation, we at the Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP) decided to felicitate D’Souza,” said Mamledar, at a small felicitation function outside his office. “Because of D’Souza’s alertness, two lives were saved and police later managed to nab the culprits,” Mamledar added.
Mamledar also expressed his displeasure over alleged inaction of Old Goa Police in the case.
