VASCO: The Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha on Thursday informed that the work of the proposed new Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Cansaulim is going on in full swing and the same will be completed in next six months time.
She disclosed that there were certain issues for delay in construction work of the proposed primary health centre however the same has been resolved.
Saldanha was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of launching of 108 ambulance van which was handed over by the health department for the whole of Cortalim constituency and will be stationed at Cansaulim primary health centre.
She said that the launching of 108 ambulance van would be helpful for the people those residing in surrounding 7 to 8 villages in Cortalim constituency.
“By providing 108 Ambulance, the state government has fulfilled a very long pending need of the people from Cortalim constituency. The ambulance is equipped with advanced amenities needed to help the people during emergencies like heart attack, delivery of child etc and the staff deployed in the ambulance is highly trained to handle such cases,” she said.
“As far as the work of expanding the primary health centre is concerned, the same is going on at good pace and our target is to open up this upgraded and expanded PHC facility for the people in the next six months time. This PHC will cater to the needs of seven neighbouring villages,” she added.
