NUVEM: Parish Youth Nuvem got the better of Cortalim Villagers 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 5th Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament, organised by Parish Youth Nuvem at Jesus Mary Joseph Church ground, Nuvem, on Tuesday.
In the first minute, Jerose Oliveira netted the first goal of the match for Parish Youth Nuvem before Godfrey Mascarenhas doubled the account in the 6th minute.
Finding themselves two goals down in six minutes, Cortalim Villagers regrouped and pressed hard in search of a goal and finally managed to pull one back in the 17th minute through Shubert Pereira.
Riding on the home crowd, Nuvem dominated the next 15 minutes and scored their third at the half-hour mark through Jerose Oliveira.
As the match progressed Inacio Colaco too recorded his name on the score sheet for Nuvem to make it 5-1.
Jerose completed his hat-trick in style after scoring a stunning solo goal to take the final tally to 6-1 in favour of Nuvem.
