MAPUSA: President of Goa Esperansa Aldona Malvin Fernandes said that illegalities and encroachment on comunidade land has increased in Aldona. Fernandes has alleged that in two different cases comunidade land has been encroached and construction is in full swing. Fernandes also alleged that government officials have failed to take any action.
“Illegal construction has been going on at the Calvim ground in full swing. The title of the ground cannot be changed but the name is changed fraudulently to St Dominic Savio Sports Club. When we approached the party it was learnt that they had no permissions from any authorities. We have stopped the work as they failed to produce permissions,” Fernandes said.
“A complaint has also been filed with concerned departments regarding the same,” Fernandes said.
Fernandes said that a similar situation has arisen at Gavar in Aldona where comunidade land has been encroached. “We were shocked to see construction of bungalows in full swing at Gavar, wherein a police official is also involved. The land has been encroached and the panchayat is also involved with the illegal construction,” he alleged.
“Comunidade land is being grabbed where constructions are going and people further selling the land as well as giving it on lease. We have not give land to anybody,” Fernandes said.
“We request the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to set up an inquiry and take action on how the comunidade land is being grabbed,” he added.
