PANJIM: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Monday held a meeting with the senior officers of the government departments regarding pre-monsoon preparedness of Porvorim constituency at the PAC Hall of Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim.
During the course of discussions, Khaunte instructed the authorities of panchayats and Water Resources Department (WRD) to undertake the work of desilting of drains, gutters and nullahs before the onset of monsoon.

The issues pertaining to the works to be carried out by PWD, electricity and fire and emergency services and other concerned departments were discussed during the meeting.
Further, the minister directed all the concerned departments to gear-up their machinery and take all the necessary precautions to deal with any eventualities during monsoon.
Khaunte said that he has asked the deputy collector to hold a review meeting with the village panchayats of Porvorim constituency and to take measures to avoid flooding near Ticlo Petrol Pump on national highway and to clean gutters to ensure smooth flow of rain water and also to clear debris from the roadside.
