PONDA: Usgao locals have demanded the Directorate of Mines and Geology to take against an illegal laterite stone quarry operating at Usgao near Goa Meat Complex without any NOC and Environment clearances from concerned offices.
The locals have pointed out that the School and Higher Secondary are situated within 100 metres of the present illegal laterite stone quarry.

Further there are four water springs in mining area that stop the flow of the spring water. People utilise this spring water for household chores.
Local say that this quarry is dangerous for students.
