MARGAO: Residents of Sao Jose de Areal on Sunday were shocked to notice that a car parked outside the local church premises was broken into and the valuables kept in it were stolen.
Following this incident, the residents appealed to everyone to remain alert and watch out for suspicious activities in their areas.

“The incident has sparked an alarm not only in Sao Jose de Areal, but across the State of Goa. People need to be alert as the thieves are on move to target parked vehicles, mostly when the faithful are attending Eucaristic services in the church, said Freddy Travaso, a local from Sao Jose De Areal.
He informed them that the people were shocked to notice that the windows of the car were broken with a stone.
“The police authorities need to investigate this incident reported at Sao Jose de Areal seriously, besides the faithful going to the Church should see that their valuables are not kept inside the car,” he said.
Travaso also informed that cash, besides ATM card and all other belongings were stolen from the car.
