Panjim: Goa’s vibrant biking community is raising its voice in unison, calling for the establishment of a dedicated racing and practice track in the state. The bikers express growing concerns over the increasing incidents of bikers practicing, riding, and performing stunts on regular roads, leading to accidents and injuries.
The demand for a specialized track comes as a proactive measure to address the safety concerns associated with bikers honing their skills on public thoroughfares. The biking enthusiasts highlight that the absence of a designated area for practicing and racing activities has resulted in a surge of incidents, jeopardizing the safety of both the riders and other road users. Several reported cases underscore the risks involved when bikers engage in high-speed maneuvers, stunts, or practice sessions on normal roads. The consequences have ranged from minor accidents to severe injuries, prompting the biking community to appeal to the government, especially Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, to allocate land and resources for a dedicated track.
Bikers argue that a dedicated racing and practice track would not only provide a safer environment for enthusiasts to enhance their skills but also contribute to reducing road accidents caused by such activities. The proposed track could be designed to meet international safety standards, ensuring a controlled and secure space for bikers to indulge in their passion without compromising public safety.
The biking community is hopeful that the government will recognize the importance of such a facility, not only for the well-being of bikers but also for the overall safety and order on Goa’s roads. They emphasize that the establishment of a track would align with global practices, fostering a responsible and organized biking culture in the state.
As discussions on this matter gain momentum, bikers eagerly await a positive response from the government, anticipating a collaborative effort to create a dedicated space that promotes both passion and safety within the biking community.
