Important decisions like realignment of traffic in the city and renaming of Rua de Ourem road figure on the agenda of the Corporation of the City of Panjim’s meeting scheduled tomorrow.
CCP Mayor Caroline Po said that Rua de Ourem road would be named as Cosme Mathias Menezes Road, if all the corporators agree for the same.
The meeting will also discuss about the new traffic plan for the city, which will be taken up along with traffic police. The decision on revising the rent of various CCP premises allotted to people will also be taken.
The city fathers will also resolve on revising the sanitation charges levied on various establishments.
“For the first time, different categories would be made and they would be charged as per the quantum of left over generated by them,” a CCP official said.
The slaughterhouses and similar establishments will be charged Rs 80 per day as sanitation charges while others like vegetable vendors will have to shell out Rs 10 per day. This is likely to help CCP earn more revenue from the market.
CCP has recently come out with a notice to the market tenants to pay their rents as per the new rates of Rs 195 per sq mt before July 15, which is been opposed by the market tenant association.
