GKN slams Govt for detaining innocent youth

Says govt must immediately apologise to the entire youth of Goa unconditionally

MARGAO: Goyant Kollso Naka (GKN) has condemned the State Government’s act of detaining and traumatising innocent youth of Goa on their way to the Liberation Day celebrations in Panjim.

GKN said, “Such dastardly misuse of power by the Government against the young and future citizens smacks of gross disrespect for the Constitution and the nation and the government must immediately apologise to the entire youth of Goa unconditionally.”

“The Government can no longer refuse to see the truth regarding sustainable development of Goa, and the urgent need to correct absurd policies that are leading Goa and the whole world towards ruin. Stopping coal transportation through Goa and all related infrastructure projects including the three linear projects that threaten our Western Ghats, villages and local communities, and restoring the rights of the local communities over our resources and the sustainable economies developed for over 1200 years by this living civilisation, so that Atmanirbhar Bharat can really happen, are the first steps” said GKN.

“Indeed, it is proved today that our anti-people policies over the past few decades have only robbed our children of their Right to Life and now threaten their very survival. Our generation can hope for some forgiveness from our children only if we immediately stop destroying their future for our greed. The greed of the corporates pushing the coal transportation plans must be stamped out. The government of Goa must take this first step right now, if the future generations have to ever forgive us,” demanded GKN.
