Carmona extends lockdown till June 7

CARMONA: The Carmona Village Panchayat has further extended it’s lockdown by other 15 days till June 7.

It may be recalled that the Carmona Village Panchayat had convened an emergency special meeting on May 4, to discuss the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and take appropriate measures deemed fit in the interest of the village taking into account the rapid spread of virus in the village unchecked.

The panchayat had declared a 15-day lockdown from May 6, to break the chain of rising cases under Section 60/2 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, to protect and safeguard the health and lives of the villagers. Continuing with its dedicated COVID preventive measures, the panchayat at its body meeting held on Saturday, has resolved to extend the lockdown in the village for another 15 days from May 24 to June 7. The restricted opening timings have been maintained at 7 am to 12 noon, informed Carmona village sarpanch Allwyn Jorge.
