PANJIM: Compassion FC earned their second victory defeating Ponda Footballers 3-0 in their GFA Under-14 Ilhas Zone League match played at the Fr. Agnel’s ground Pilar, on Saturday.
Going into the match having lost their two previous games against Dempo Juniors and Sporting Clube de Goa the win was a great Christmas gift to the underprivileged boys of Compassion FC.
It was in the 17th minute Compassion FC scored the first goal through Ashish Kumar and then later on scored their second goal through Kailash in the 31st minute of play.
The Compassion FC should have been many more goals up but lacked the finishing skills.
The last and final goal was scored by Sitroy Carvalho in the 59th minute through a neat placement of the ball to the right of the Ponda goalkeeper who brought about at least half a dozen saves.
With this win, Compassion FC have six points from four matches while Ponda Footballers are yet to open their account.
