MARGAO: Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club defeated Arlem Youth Association 2-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA’s 3rd Division League at Manora ground, Raia, Saturday.
The teams were tied 1-1 at lemon break.
Gloria broke the deadlock in the 11th minute when striker Eklis Vaz slotted past rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
Stung by the setback, Arlem regrouped quickly and took the fight to the rival camp and neutralized the lead in the 15th minute when Brilo Fernandes punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
Post resumption,Gloria showed some urgency and called the shots against the rival citadel. Melroy Dias struck the match winner for Gloria in the 78th minute.
Arlem tried their best but failed to get past the rival goalkeeper.
