The Honda plant of the Automobile Corporation of Goa has reportedly informed its staff of the decision to reduce the number of working days to three in a week.
According to sources, the decision has been taken due to low demand in the productivity at the Honda plant. The staff has been instructed to follow the new schedule from January 5 and a final decision in this regard will be taken on Saturday.
Though the managing director could not be contacted for comments, it is learnt from sources that the ACGL plant at Bhuimpal-Sattari (bus body building division) has been temporarily shut down for a few months. The staff from the plant is likely to be shifted to the Honda plant with the condition of working three days in a week.
