PANJIM: The Manohar Parrikar government has lifted the ban on all posts where candidates were issued offers of appointment by departments before the recruitment ban came into force on November 22, 2016.
Also, the government has directed all departments to submit details of those posts for which written tests were conducted and the results were either declared or were awaited, for consideration on a case-to-case basis.
The government last month had lifted the recruitment ban imposed by the previous government in November, last year.
In the first phase the ban was lifted for grant-in-aid institutions, educational institutions, Goa Medical College, Dental College, Institute of Psychiatric and Human Behavior and Directorate of Health Services and compassionate appointment under department of personnel and children of freedom fighters.
In the second phase, the government lifted the ban on posts wherein offers of appointment were issued on or before November 22, 2016 subject to any vigilance complaint pending.
“All the posts for which written exams were conducted and results were either declared or awaited, such cases shall be referred to Personnel Department for decision on case-to-case basis,” Additional Secretary (Personnel) Y M Maralkar said in the order issued on Monday.
Various departments like Public Works Department, Tourism, Electricity, Police, Forest, Women and Child and District Administration had either conducted written exams or had announced the result just before the ban was imposed, last year.
Ahead of the February 2017 Assembly elections, the then Laxmikant Parsekar government had imposed a ban on all recruitment in the government sector for smoother implementation of the VII Pay Commission to its over one lakh employees as the State faced an additional financial liability to the tune of Rs 47 crore every month from January 1.
