In an animated series titled “How the Grinch stole Christmas” there was a character Grinch who just knew how to bring gloom, by stealing the Christmas gift unlike Santa Claus who would visit with gifts every year and spread happiness!
Well with the current demonetisation one thing for sure Mr Modi, you aren’t Santa Claus but Grinch, who I think just knew how to ruin our year end festivity of Christmas!!
It was worse than a silent war attack on the innocent people who were caught off-guard due to the severe demonetisation that occurred on the 8th of November 2016. With reports of few innocent people even fainting to breathing their last due to the financial crunch that was created to the demonetisation.
Top people, actors , actresses, industrialists while welcoming the sudden overnight decision (one of the most complicated ) with huge broad smiles, the anguish among all the daily wage earners to middle class families were the most and are still the most affected. The industrialists families, certain bollywood actors, and affluently rich have nothing to fear as for them money or no money credit is always an option to feed their families.
But what happens to the rest? I visited my local branch on the 10th of November and it was a scary scene , few in anguish about why this sudden decision, few in desperation (domestic and international tourists) for want of money and that nobody are accepting their hard earned white money and the rests tried patiently to wait to see if they could get some money. I had to return home empty handed as the money at the branch got over!
Mr Modi, if you think that your decision will catch those people who have black money, do you know that now you can carry 1lakh ruppees in your normal wallet?! Thanks to you its become that easy to store black money home!
You introduced 2000 rupee notes, what about the change? We always had stiff fights with shopkeepers over want of our change instead of chocolates and now we cannot get change, we have to ask ‘Arrey Baba mod assa?’ Mr Modi, while you tried to do good, inturn this has been by far the worst decision you have taken. I say this as we are a few weeks away from Christmas and thanks to you, we cannot plan our gift shopping, nor sweets shopping or clothes shopping, even though the ATM’s are operational the amount is only 2000rs per transaction, the promise of 4000rs was a joke! And that is not all. Your weekly withdrawal at the counter is not literally Rs. 24000/- per week, you have to deduct your ATM withdrawal just incase you utilised it. That simply means you cannot withdraw how much you require to do your shopping ahead of Christmas, so what do we do now?? And why demonetisation now as we are fast approaching for Christmas? Why??
Swiping cards is fine, but what about those places where those machines are not available? Goa is not like few other states or countries where the swiping machine is available and who can guarantee the working condition of the same? What happens if it breaks down, what is the next option, Cheques?
