PONDA: Usgao villagers have threatened to launch an agitation if the renovation work of the government school building in the village is not completed before the monsoons.
Long before the start of the last monsoons, the students had been moved to a private building for taking up the renovation of the government school building. According to the work order, the contractor was to complete the renovation work before the start of last rainy season.
However, since the contractor failed to complete the work on time, classes were continued to be conducted in the private building. This caused the students great hardship, forcing their parents to launch an agitation for expediting the renovation work. But once the rains subsided, the agitation also subsided taking the pressure off the contractor, who has failed to complete the work so far.
Now, the parents fear that the renovation of the school building may not be completed before the onset of the rains, once again putting their children to the same hardship.
