It appears that the authorities concerned are least bothered or have no concern towards its citizens with regards to health and sanitation. And I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned, especially the Mapusa Municipal Council and the Health Department to the open gutter near the Canara Bank at Mapusa, which has been left open for quite some time. The open gutter opposite the garden, which is full of filth, plastic and other waste, is infested with maggots and poses as a serious health hazard.
Besides there are several restaurants in the area and the customers visiting them are welcomed by the unbearable stench.

The gutter is an open invitation for vector-borne diseases and people especially senior citizens and children visiting the garden are likely to get infected. Will the Mapusa Municipal Council and the Health Department look into this problem and initiate action at the earliest?
