PEDEM-MAPUSA: Young Sports Hockey Club, Mapusa beat Innovation, Margao 7-0 in the final to win the State Hockey Championship played at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa.
Veena Naik (3), Nikita Naik (3) and Sonam scored for Young Sports.
In the Junior Boys final, San Antonio Warriors Guirim beat Ani Guddi Sports Club. Daniel (2), Ankush (2) Suhas, Pranesh and Gaurav scored for the Warriors whereas Gautam reduced the margin for the losing team. Farrel Furtado E Gracias, Vice President Goans Hockey and Alexander Remedios Coach NIS Hockey, gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up. Beny Viegas, secretary and Sam Braganza, Inacio Fernandes and Melchior Alemao EC Members were also present.
