PANJIM: The State Labour Department prepared around 9500 Smart Labour Cards in the first round and informed that the second round of cards will commence soon.
While briefing media persons, Labour & Employment Commissioner Raju Gawas said that the Smart Labour Card is an online provision and has been introduced on the State service delivery portal.

The cards will facilitate the registration of employees of all the organisations through bulk upload or individual upload mode along with online payment facility.
Gawas added that the cards will also serve as an online resume which can be used for availing government jobs and at in any job fairs held across the State of Goa.
The cards are also aimed at helping the State government to make any policy and decision about various labour and employment aspects in the State.
While employees, employer and employer associations have been advised to see that all posses the smart cards, the department said it will help ensure the safety and welfare of the organised and unorganised sector as well as the security, education and protection of labour.
