Speaking to media persons, Police Inspector Shivram Vaigankar said they brought to the notice of IGP Garg that there is shortage of officers at the police station and the existing vehicle has become very old.
“Since Porvorim police station is looking after the safety of Legislative Assembly complex besides regular duties, workload of the police station has increased immensely and hence we need a good vehicle,” PI Vaigankar said.
“IGP Garg assured to post few police sub inspectors at Porvorim police station once the officers who are undergoing training at Gujarat returns. The police department plans to purchase few new vehicles and the IGP has assured to consider our request for the new vehicle,” informed PI Vaigankar.
“IGP Garg also advised us that he is open to suggestions from the staff and approach him directly if need arises,” he added.
IGP Garg was accompanied by North Goa SP Priyanka Kashyap, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nelson Alburqueque and PI Vaigankar.
