If the civic body could not produce the site plan on grounds that the plan is with the municipal architect who designed the parking lot, Thursday saw a similar situation where in the civic body could not make available the plan to the PWD and fire officials.
PWD Assistant Engineer, Vijai Kudchadkar said the proposed inspection cum demarcation of the Old fish market land behind the MMC building could not take place for the second day today for want of the site plan. “Unless the civic body makes available the site plan any inspection or demarcation will only end in futility,” Kudchadkar said, while disclosing plans to submit a detailed report of the Municipal indifference to the district Collector, South Venancio Furtado.
It is learnt that a Municipal engineer reportedly maintained that they have no knowledge of the site plan of the parking lot since the same was handled by another engineer Vishant Naik, who is present accompanying the City Fathers on a junket to Hyderabad.
Given the situation, Furtado told the media on Thursday evening that he would intervene if there’s no response forthcoming from the MMC.
“If the not the old fish market land, my office will ascertain whether any government is lying around the municipal market area which can be utilised to build the overhead water tank”, Furtado said.
