Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa has given the Goa government a 15-day ultimatum to restart the stalled reconstruction work of the Quepem Police Station, warning of intensified protests if the project does not resume.
Leading a demonstration outside the Deputy Collector’s office in Quepem along with local residents and Congress workers, D’Costa alleged that the reconstruction project has remained incomplete despite the police station being shifted to a temporary location nearly five years ago to facilitate repairs and rebuilding.

He said the prolonged delay has caused significant inconvenience to residents, who are now required to travel to the temporary police station. According to the MLA, many people also have to hire motorcycle pilots to access the relocated premises.
D’Costa demanded that the government provide a written explanation for the delay in completing the reconstruction work. He warned that if construction does not recommence within the next 15 days, the Congress party will escalate its agitation against the government over the issue.
