GTDC JE remanded in police custody

PANJIM: Vibhesh Prabhudessai, a junior engineer at Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has been remanded in police custody for three days in connection with the bribery charge. 
The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday evening had caught him red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a contractor whose bills were pending clearance for a long time. 
On Wednesday, he was produced before the Special Court that remanded him in police custody for three days. 
Details shared with Herald soon after the raid revealed that Prabhudessai, who was recruited in 2016 had demanded Rs 40,000 from the complainant contractor but it was negotiated to Rs 5,000. 
The complainant had recorded the conversation after which he approached the ACB with the complaint. A trap was laid and he was caught red-handed from his office at GTDC.
