MARGAO: Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda, Mount Mary HSS, Chinchinim and St Mary HS, Varca entered the second round of the Salcete Taluka U-17 Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, played at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Thursday.
OL of Rosary HS, Fatorda defeated Gaunkar HSS, Raia 4-3 via the tie-breaker after the full session ended 1-1 draw. Beckham Dias for Rosary School and Stewart Costa for Gaunkar HSS were the goalscorers. In the tie breaker, OL Rosary HS proved to better shooters.
Mount Mary HSS recorded a nervy 2-1 win over Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna. Enoch Pires and Jeroslav Gomes scored a goal each for Mount Mary HSS while Ismail reduced the margin for Assolna School.
In the third match of the day, St Mary’s HS, Varca scored 6-5 tie-breaker win over Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim after the match ended 1-1 draw. Wilson Baa and Aden D’Sa were the scorers for St Mary’s HS and Perpetual School respectively in the normal time.
