CANACONA: Canacona Police arrested a resident of Canacona on charges of assaulting an hotelier and two others over some property matter.
According to police, Mahesh Sawant of Sawantwada-Canacona was arrested for allegedly assaulting Pradeep Dugal, his son and another person. Dugal is running a resort nearby to Palolem beach at Sawantwada.
In a counter-complaint, Sawant complained that while he was proceeding to his house, he was obstructed and assaulted by three men, including Pradeep.
Police after applying various sections such as 143, 147, 148, 341, and 324 read with 149 of IPC, arrested Mahesh Sawant and produced him before JMFC who remanded him to two days police custody.
