QUEPEM: Chandor Veteran defeated Varca Veterans 11-10 via the tie-breaker to move into semi-finals of the Quepem Veterans Seamen Cup,at Borimol Sports Complex ground, on Wednesday.
The match was a closely fought contest between the two teams.
Both the teams were tied 3-3 at the full time.
Francisco Fernandes opened the account for Varca Veterans in the 5th minute. Within 10 minutes, Chandor levelled terms thought Orlando Dias.
In the second half, Chandor came back strongly and took the lead in the 27th minute through Arnaldo Gomes. In the 29th minute Mario Coelho levelled the scores for Varca Veterans.
In the 34 minute, Varca took the lead again through Augustine Dias, but in the dying minutes Trevor Antao dribbled past rival defender and equalised for Chandor Veterans.
In the tie breaker Peter Teofilio, Orlando, Conception, Ashok, Tushar, Tevor, Ismaeil scored for Chandor Veterans while Franky, Rocky, Succor, Francisco, Mario, Charles and Rommel scored for Varca Veterans.
