CANSAULIM: BITS Pilani, Sancoale overcame Chicalim Sports Club with an easy 3-0 win in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Dr T B Cunha Sports Complex, Cansaulim, on Sunday.
The teams started on equal footing but soon BITS took control of the game with a direct approach towards the game playing all-out attacking game. Chicalim SC soon fumbled as they gave away a penalty under pressure.
Gurdain Madan stepped and converted the spot kick to give his side a well-deserved lead at the break.
In the second session, Chicalim Sports Club put up fight keeping more of the ball and playing short passes in a bid to break a strong BITS defence.
But they failed to get past the midfield itself.
At the other end, BITS players showed their composure on the field and showed great unity as they played with great chemistry making it difficult for Chicalim to get adapted to the match.
BITS doubled the account through Neel Bhandari before Poonesh Babu also got on the score sheet with a sublime finish to make it 3-0.
