PANJIM: Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, closed yet another record month in India with a sale of 1002 units in October 2013, a growth of 17.8 percent (October 2012: 850 cars). Sales for the period January – October 2013 stood at 8393 units, a growth of 15.4 percent (January – October 2012: 7267 units).
“With this remarkable performance in the month of October, we have moved within striking distance of our goal, of becoming the first luxury car manufacturer in India to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year. While the market conditions continued to be challenging, we persisted with our focus on enhancing our product offering, growing a high quality network and introducing some very innovative service and finance offerings, most of which have become benchmarks in the industry,” said Joe King, head, Audi India.
Audi India inaugurated new showrooms in Karnal and Vadodara in the month of October and will open two more showrooms in the month of November. The Audi Autumn Collection featuring new engines and exciting new features, introduced to celebrate the festive season was well received across India. Audi continues to be the leading luxury car brand in India and also the market leader in the luxury SUV segment and the sports car segment.
